Santa Barbara
The village of Santa Barbara was built by the Valdarno Mining Company , to cope with the accommodation needs of its employees, which  number grew strongly from 1937. From that year, the  policy of the government had given new impetus to the lignite industry , that led to the increase of workers in the sector and, consequently the increase of the number of families who gravitated around the mine area .

The project of the town was designed by architect Raffaello Brizzi
